An acclaimed actress, known for roles in Broadway shows and hit television series, has died at the age of 84.

Tony Award winner Elizabeth Franz died Nov. 4 at her home in Connecticut. Her husband, screenwriter Christopher Pelham , confirmed the news to the New York Times .

Franz’s cause of death was revealed to be a severe reaction to medication she used as she battled cancer.

The Ohio native was best known for playing Linda Loman, the wife of protagonist Willy Loman ( Brain Dennehy ), in the 1999 revival of “Death of a Salesman.” Franz won the Tony Award for best performance by an actress in a featured role in a play for her role.

Franz appeared in a variety of Broadway and off-Broadway productions such as “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” “Lost in Yonkers” and “A View for the Bridge”
