A Hackensack man was arrested last week and charged with sexually assaulting a child more than once over an 11-month period, authorities said.

Fernando Sandoval, 42, is charged with sexual assault and attempted sexual assault, both as second-degree crimes, fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, and two counts of third-degree endangering.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Monday an investigation revealed Sandoval abused the juvenile victim in Hackensack between Dec. 21, 2024, and Nov. 2, 2025.

He was arrested Wednesday and held at the Bergen County Jail ahead of a court appearance. Attorney information for Sandoval was not listed in court or jail records.
