THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man is dead after an early morning crash in Thomson on Monday, according to the McDuffie County Coroner’s Office.

Victim ID’d in deadly ATV crash in Washington County

We’re learning the name of a victim who died in an ATV crash in Washington County over the weekend.

The coroner’s office says it was called to 1500 block of Dallas Drive around 6 a.m. for a victim of a motor vehicle accident.

The victim has since been identified as Robert Butler Jr., 58, of Thomson.

He was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:45 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.

Georgia State Patrol and the SCRT Team are continuing with the investigation.

The body is scheduled for an autopsy later this week at the Georgia State Crime Lab.
