MAYSLICK, Ky. (WSIL) -- Kentucky State Police (KSP) arrested two people after they say a laser was directed at a KSP helicopter on November 3, 2025, near Mayslick.
KSP said the helicopter was assisting in the search for a missing 11-year-old in Robertson County when it was struck by a laser beam, posing a serious threat to the flight crew's safety. The pilot and tactical flight officer were reportedly affected, with the officer potentially suffering eye injuries.
In addition to the laser, suspects on the ground were accused of firing multiple rounds at the helicopter. State police said this escalated the danger to both the flight crew and people on the ground.
