Police in Wikwemikong have arrested a pair of residents who took off on an ATV and resisted arrest.
It’s the latest in a string of incidents involving off-road vehicles and the police service is fed up with the trend.

“The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service will continue to utilize every tool at our disposal to curb unsafe ATV driving in our community,” said police chief Ron Gignac in a release. “This includes addressing incidents where drivers fail to stop for police, which is a foolish and dangerous thing to do at any time of the day or night.”
WTPS said officers attempted to stop an ATV in the wee hours on Saturday but the vehicle, carrying two people, took off at a high rate of speed into the village.
