MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies say a suspect is in the hospital after he reportedly shot himself inside a McDonald's in Montgomery County on Monday.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened at the McDonald's located at the 32300 block of SH 249, which the Harris County Sheriff's Office said involved a weapons disturbance suspect.

HCSO Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Montgomery County deputies found the suspect at the restaurant, and while attempting to take him into custody, he allegedly ran into the bathroom and shot himself.

Gonzalez said the wounded suspect was taken to the hospital.

Deputies did not provide additional information about the suspect or his condition.
