A Nashville judge has partially granted a petition filed by the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition seeking access to public records from a May operation in South Nashville that saw the arrest of nearly 200 people.
TIRRC filed the lawsuit against the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, according to the Tennessee Bar Association. The suit alleges that the state delayed providing video records. TIRRC also challenges the state’s decision to redact badge numbers, officer names and other information in the records.
