GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office reports an Anderson couple was arrested for allegedly neglecting and stealing almost $330,000 from a vulnerable adult.

Officials said a joint investigation between the Vulnerable Adults and Medicaid Provider Fraud unit and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office revealed Tonya Simmons, 45, and Randall Simmons, 47, took the vulnerable adult from a nursing facility but neglected them by not providing adequate food, assistance with basic daily activities and essential personal hygiene care and supplies.

Randall was granted control over the victim’s finances and diverted the funds fraudulently for his own use. Tonya also received and accepted numerous Zelle transfers that came from the victim’s stolen bank a
