SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) - A 16-year-old Hamden resident was arrested Friday night after police found him with the key fob to a stolen BMW parked at Southington High School during a football game.

The arrest happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday when officers located a vehicle of interest parked in the high school parking lot, which was congested due to an active football game. Police detained several people near the car as their investigation began.

The car was determined to be a black 2024 BMW X6 that was stolen from Orange in late October, according to police.

One of the detained individuals was found to be in possession of and concealing the car’s ignition key fob, police said. The 16-year-old was taken into custody without incident.
