WHERE DO THINGS SIT NOW?

The 2026 budget update, released last week by Mayor Josh Morgan, forecasts a property tax hike of 3.6 per cent, down from the 6.4 per cent forecast after budget talks last year and down from 5.7 per cent estimated at the start of the multi-year budget process in the spring.

A property tax hike of 3.6 per cent means an increase of $54 for every $100,000 in assessed residential value.
