NEW ORLEANS —
The Archdiocese of New Orleans is preparing for its bankruptcy trial to start this week.
On Monday, Judge Meredith Grabill said the case, which has spanned nearly six years, will be resolved "one way or another" and is hoping the proceedings will move quickly. Advertisement
The trial officially starts Tuesday. This comes after sex abuse survivors agreed to a nearly $230 million settlement.
The federal courtroom was packed Monday with attorneys from all sides, as well as survivors like Johnny Krummel, one of nearly 600 people with abuse claims against the diocese.
Krummel told WDSU he is ready to share his story in front of the archbishop in hopes of finding closure.
