NEW ORLEANS —
A New Orleans couple has been arrested for allegedly defrauding the Medicaid program for more than $61,000.
The attorney general's office said it received a criminal referral from the Louisiana Department of Health regarding allegations against Gregory and Antoinette Hammond of New Orleans. Advertisement
They are both Medicaid recipients and had intentionally underreported their income for the purpose of receiving Medicaid benefits.
During their investigation, they learned that from June 2021 to May 2025, the couple presented false information by failing to accurately report their marital status and household income, resulting in them defrauding the program of more than $61,000.
