Once dismissed as a big-city problem, gun violence has found a foothold in Northern Ontario. Specifically, gun-related murders and attempted murders in Greater Sudbury have climbed to their highest level in five years, part of a disturbing rise in violence linked to the illegal drug trade.

Gun violence shatters a community’s sense of safety, leaving residents fearful and uncertain in places that once felt secure.
