A former home health aide is accused of causing the death of a 67-year-old Saratoga County woman through reckless neglect, police said.
Kyle Bliss, 36, was charged after investigators concluded that his conduct led to the November 2024 death of Jean Ball, Stillwater Police said. Bliss had been employed as Ball’s full-time home health care aide at the time.
An “extensive” investigation involving multiple agencies determined that Bliss engaged in neglectful behavior that contributed to Ball’s death, police said. Details of the alleged conduct were not released.
Bliss, who now lives in Huachuca City, Arizona, was arrested Friday, Nov. 14, on a New York warrant in Cochise County, Arizona. He was transported to Saratoga County and arraigned Monday, Nov. 17.
Prosecutors charged Bliss with second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person or an incompetent or physically disabled person. He is also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Bliss remains held at the Saratoga County Jail.
Additional details about Ball’s life were not immediately available. Loved ones are invited to share a statement and/or photos by emailing mmashburn@dailyvoice.com.
