A GoFundMe has been launched for an Ocean County woman whose close friends say was mauled in a 20-minute unprovoked dog attack outside her home earlier this month.
According to the GoFundMe, Allana Lipston was rushed to the trauma center at Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she underwent emergency surgery for severe bite wounds to her arms, legs, hands, and head.
Initial reports said the attack happened on the 100 block of Nautilus Boulevard around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Friends said two neighborhood dogs attacked Lipston in her front yard.
She suffered nerve damage in her hands and faces a long road of healing ahead, including additional surgery and extensive physical therapy, her friends said.
Lipston works as a private practice therapist and does not receive any paid leave or sick days, meaning she's out of work with no income, organizers said.
As of press time, the campaign had raised more than $3,800.
It wasn't immediately clear whether or not any charges had been filed.
