Brits are bracing for freezing temperatures as snow blizzards could hit parts of the country , even as far south as Birmingham, in a matter of hours.
Weather maps show wintry conditions will impact several areas, with Scotland set to be blanketed first, as early as 3am. Glasgow, Perth, Dundee, and Edinburgh are likely to be covered by snow by around 6am.
The Met Office said Wednesday to Friday will be the coldest part of the week, with "a significant wind chill" expected. Temperatures could plummet to -10C in some parts of the country. A widespread frost is expected, especially in sheltered areas, forecasters said.
