CHEYENNE — Laramie County School District 1 celebrated the LCSD1 Trades Academy Monday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The academy was formed in response to the increasing demand for career and technical education (CTE) in the county. As data centers, new apartment complexes and even military construction loom on the horizon, Cheyenne has an increasing need for workers in the trades, LCSD1 Superintendent Stephen Newton said.
“We also have kids who are committing from a very early age to the trades,” Newton said. “And what is to come in the trades conversation is a challenge to all of you here, to our industry partners, what might be possible next.”
