DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys are paying tribute to defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who died by suicide last week, with heartfelt gestures both on and off the field — and renewed calls for greater awareness of men’s mental health.
Before kickoff against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football, Cowboys players and staff wore special tribute T-shirts honoring Kneeland, 23. The team also released a tribute video on social media, highlighting his impact in the locker room and the joy he brought to teammates.
Quarterback Dak Prescott spoke openly about the loss, calling it “devastating” for both the team and Kneeland’s family. Prescott, who lost his brother to suicide in 2020, said the tragedy underscores how important it is to check in on those silently struggling.
