Queensland rugby league great and Seven News analyst Trevor Gillmeister has been hit with multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer outside a popular Brisbane pub.

Gillmeister, 61, was booted from the Stock Exchange Hotel in the city’s CBD on Friday after allegedly assaulting a staff member.

He then allegedly got into a physical scuffle with police, who had been called to the scene.

He was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, public nuisance and obstructing police.

A Queensland Police spokesman said officers “were stopped by a member of the public in relation to a physical disturbance inside the Charlotte Street venue” just before midnight.
