BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Around $300,000 dollars could make its way to homeowners in Biloxi, but there is a race against the clock to make it happen.

The City of Biloxi is still attempting to spend the money it received in 2020 from the Community Development Block Grant.

Previous proposals were turned down by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Now, it is being suggested that the money go into creating a homeowner rehabilitation program, helping elderly residents with ventilation, roof repair, and more.

Ward 2 Councilman Anthony Marshall said the city needs to try to spend the grant money before it is lost.
