Livingstone’s men’s basketball team opened the season with two losses in West Virginia.
In Friday’s 100-85 setback at West Virginia State, the Blue Bears got 22 points from James Nipper, 18 from Jacob Hukins and 15 from Jeremiah Mobley. Livingstone made nine 3s and shot 38.6 percent.
West Virginia State played very well for an opener — 47-percent shooting, 11 3-pointers and 12 turnovers.

Livingstone did not shoot as well in Saturday’s 74-59 loss at Glenville State.
The Blue Bears shot 32 percent and made only one 3-pointer.
Nipper had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Jemez Hurd Jr. scored 10.
Livingstone has a home exhibition against South Carolina Christian on Tuesday and will play two weekend games in the J.C. Smith Classic.
