A man has tragically died following a medical emergency at a McDonald's in Stafford. Emergency services were alerted to the incident at the Stafford Trade Centre at 6.21pm on Monday evening.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the man in a critical condition and provided advanced life support. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter. A spokesperson for the ambulance service stated, "We were called to reports of a medical emergency. Crews arrived to find a man in a critical condition and administered advanced life support. Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene a short time later."
Witnesses reported a significant police presence, with around ten marked police cars and two ambulances outside the fast-food restaurant. One onlooker noted that the windows had been "taped up" and described the situation as serious, saying, "The police are turning people away. It's obviously something serious."
Staffordshire Police confirmed they received a call at 7.10pm regarding a man in cardiac arrest at the McDonald's on Eccleshall Road. A police spokesperson added, "Sadly, the man died at the scene. We are not treating the man’s death as suspicious and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner."
The McDonald's branch has since been closed as investigations continue. The community is left in shock as details surrounding the incident unfold.
