ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man accused of raping a woman during a drug deal is set to stand trial.
Bobby Escobar, 48 of Rochester, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, and fifth-degree drug possession.
The Rochester Police Department says a woman reported being sexually assaulted by Escobar in August. The victim told officers she met with Escobar in a church parking lot to buy some cocaine from him. The victim says she got into Escobar’s vehicle and offered to pay for the cocaine with the title to her vehicle, but Escobar said “no you gotta work for it” and raped her.
Rochester police say when they arrested Escobar, they found .7 grams of cocaine on his person and 1.43 grams of cocaine in his vehicle.
