LEXINGTON, N.C. — Two brides who reached out for help say a local bridal shop left them without the wedding dresses they paid for — and forced them into last-minute fixes despite spending more than $1,000 upfront.
Brookelynn Berringer, who married last year, had imagined her wedding day since childhood.
“You dream about getting married since starting as a little girl,” she said.
Berringer thought she found her perfect gown. “I found my dream dress — dream of my whole life,” she said.
But six days before her wedding, that dream unraveled. Instead of the custom-ordered gown she paid for, she ended up with an oversized off-the-rack dress.
“I paid for a wedding dress she never ordered,” Berringer said. “I was left high and dry without a dress to wear.”
