AUSTIN, Texas — Someone in Texas had a very good weekend. That’s because they bought a ticket in Saturday’s Lotto Texas drawing that was worth $78 million.
It’s one of the largest jackpots in the game’s history, according to a release posted by the Texas Lottery .
The winning ticket was sold at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle, located on Padre Island Highway, and matched all six numbers -- 7, 17, 23, 28, 39, and 48. The player selected the cash value option, meaning they’ll receive an estimated $43.6 million before taxes. As of Monday, the winner hadn’t come forward. The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim their life-changing sum.
The Lotto Texas jackpot kept building since it was an advertised $5 million for the Feb. 19 drawing. It stretched for a record 116 drawings before Saturday
