Giants rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter was benched for the opening series of Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Packers because he was sleeping at he facility during a walk-through, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
Carter took to X on Monday to dispute that report.
“Was not sleep, actually doing recovery. Nonetheless that’s on ME,” he wrote.
The No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft followed that up with another post.
“When the hate don’t work they start telling lies!”
According to Duggan, a source said Carter being late to meetings was a trend, and former head coach Brian Daboll let it slide.
Carter played every snap for the rest of the game and recorded one tackle.
