The House on Tuesday voted nearly unanimously to order the Department of Justice to release all of its files on notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein , two days after President Donald Trump abruptly dropped his opposition to the bipartisan bill .

The bill, brought by Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Ro Khanna, D-Calif., passed 427-1.

It will now head to the Senate, where Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has urged that the bill be passed "as soon as possible" and without any amendments.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., told reporters after the House vote that he expects the bill will move forward "fairly quickly." He noted that Trump has signaled he is prepared to sign it into law.
