A Kent charity supporting young refugees has voiced its concerns following the announcement of sweeping changes to the UK’s asylum system.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has unveiled proposed reforms to deter people seeking asylum from coming to the UK and make deportations easier.

She is now facing growing Labour backlash over her plans, which are being endorsed by far-right activist Tommy Robinson. From making refugee status temporary to narrowing the appeal process, the proposed reforms have sparked anger among activists and charities working tirelessly to help those seeking asylum.
