A Kent council is seeking views on plans to meet the future accommodation needs of the Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling showpeople communities. The initiative from Maidstone Borough Council is set to help identify potential locations for new sites, as part of a statutory consultation.
The council is preparing a Development Plan Document (DPD) that will set out a spatial strategy, and include policies to assess future planning applications for accommodating these communities. People can have their say from November 27 until 5pm on January 11, when the consultation closes.
