A popular athletics club in a Kent town has applied to create a six lane track at a council sports centre, and it's had the backing from England Athletics which said "this need is now"
Paddock Wood Athletic Club, which pulls in members from the town and further afield, has just submitted an application to upgrade the floodlit track it uses on playing fields beside Putlands Sport and Leisure Centre in Paddock Wood.
It wants to see a six lane athletic track created and becoming "a centre of excellence". The track currently starts at two lanes, moving up to four, then six. Paddock Wood is within the borough of Tunbridge Wells, and is under eight miles from Tunbridge Wells .
The proposal states the current use of the Putlands track is club athletes, along with by pupils from Leigh Acade
