KELLOGG, Idaho —
The Kellogg Elks, in partnership with Silver Valley CARES, has opened a community food pantry in a cabinet outside the Elks lodge building to help residents struggling with food insecurity. The pantry operates on a simple principle: “Leave what you can, take what you need.”
Organizers say the goal is to provide basic nutritional options as families face mounting challenges from rising grocery prices and strained resources. The pantry will also accept donations of blankets, socks, hats, gloves, coats, hygiene items and first-aid kits.
“This is about neighbors helping neighbors,” said Carol Young, past exalted ruler of the Kellogg Elks. “We know the holidays can be especially hard for families, and this pantry is one way to show that our community cares.”
