CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia National Guard will continue supporting President Donald Trump’s DC Safe and Beautiful initiative through Dec. 31, under the direction of Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Jim Seward.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey authorized WVNG members to volunteer for continued service in Washington, D.C., with a quarterly review to consider any extension through the end of Fiscal Year 2026.
WVNG personnel will provide mission-essential equipment, specialized training, and skilled manpower as directed. As of Nov. 18, approximately 160 volunteers remain on federally funded Title 32 orders in D.C., while all other personnel returned to West Virginia on Nov. 17.
“The WVNG exemplifies the spirit of collaboration that is vital in today’s efforts to enhance the safety of our homeland
