CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi officials have begun the process of filling a vacancy on the city’s Planning Commission after Vice Chair Brian Mandel resigned Thursday amid felony charges in Louisville.
Mandel had served on the commission for the past five years. His resignation came after a Jefferson County grand jury indicted him last week on allegations that he sent threatening text messages to University of Louisville head football coach Jeff Brohm, Brohm’s family and quarterback Miller Moss.
According to court documents provided to 3NEWS, Mandel was indicted on six counts of second-degree terroristic threatening and one count of criminal attempt theft by extortion over $10,000. The threats were allegedly made Nov. 8 and 9. University of Louisville President John R. Karman III
