Flint Hills Technical College announced the opening of two new Little Free Library locations in Emporia.

Little Free Libraries, 24/7 small book exchange stations where visitors can browse a collection of books, take one that interests them, and share a book they want others to read, have continued to gain popularity worldwide, with over 200,000 locations in over 181 countries.

FHTC’s first location, situated outside of the Metcalf Education Center at 3301 West 18th Ave., opened in May and became an immediate hit, prompting the college to consider expanding.

The two new locations — one at the FHTC South Campus at 3701 W 6th Ave. and the other at the FHTC Adult Education Center at 620 Constitution St. — are now open and will be available at all times for Emporians to “take a book, share a
