COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Tuesday, Nov. 18, SCDPH has confirmed another 5 new cases of the measles in the Upstate, say officials.

According to the Dept. of Public Health, the 5 new cases which has been reported since Friday, makes it a total of 49 cases related to the Upstate.

The total number reported to DPH this year is 52.

Two of the five cases are household members of known measles cases who were in quarantine.

The other three are the result of as-yet unknown sources of transmission.

DPH says the initial investigation of contacts of the new cases has determined potential exposures in public settings.

There are now 84 people in quarantine, according to officials.
