Canada’s 10 most stolen vehicles of 2024 list is out, and a Japanese SUV is at the top, continuing a trend that’s been observed for several years now.
The list was released today, Nov. 18, by the Équité Association, a national insurance crime and fraud prevention organization.
Japanese SUVs and American pickup trucks dominate the list, making up seven of the 10 most stolen vehicles. The three exceptions are a Japanese pickup truck, Japanese car and an American SUV.

The list of most stolen vehicles in 2024, including the most stolen model year and the theft frequency compared to number of insured vehicles, is as follows:
Toyota RAV4 — 2021, 0.38 per cent
Ram 1500 Series — 2022, 0.39 per cent
Honda CR-V — 2020, 0.37 per cent
