The Toledo Walleye rallied from three, one-goal deficits at Cincinnati on Tuesday morning but fell 5-4 in overtime to the Cyclones.

The Walleye battled back from deficits of 1-0, 2-1, 3-1, and 4-3 to earn a point.

Toledo forward Denis Smirnov scored two goals, including the tying goal with 4:14 left in regulation.

But Cincinnati’s Luke Grainger scored the game-winner with 1:50 left in overtime.

The Walleye (7-3-1) are now one point behind Fort Wayne for first place in the ECHL Central Division.

Toledo forward Nolan Moyle finished with a goal and two assists, Colby Ambrosio scored his third goal of the season, and rookie goaltender Nolan Lalonde stopped 16 of 21 shots.

The Walleye finished with a 32-21 edge in shots on goal.
