The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has announced a round of shipping price increases for early next year to help compete and boost revenue following a fiscal year 2025 financial loss of $9 billion.
The planned price adjustments will take effect Jan. 18, 2026, and will be a roughly 6.6% increase for Priority Mail service, 5.1% for Priority Mail Express, 7.8% for USPS Ground Advantage and 6% for Parcel Select, USPS said in a Nov. 14 statement .
“Although Mailing Services price increases are based on the consumer price index, Shipping Services prices are primarily adjusted according to market conditions,” the service said. “The governors believe these new rates will keep the Postal Service competitive while providing the organization with needed revenue.”
