WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) - The jury trial of a woman facing animal cruelty charges in Warrick County has been set.
29-year-old Shayna Burko appeared in court Tuesday morning, where the judge set her trial for April 14, 2026.
Burko was charged with three felonies for cruelty to animals in January.
Monday , Burko was scheduled to appear in court as well, but didn’t show up.
40 people were at that hearing, including staff and volunteers from the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
They say in 2018 they removed animals from Burko’s home because of the conditions.
VHS says Burko has a pattern they hope the courts can stop.
