WEST RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - Three vacant properties in West Rutland have been redeveloped into 24 affordable and energy-efficient housing units.

The Marble Village Apartments project was funded by $13 million from a private-public partnership, including a mix of low-income tax credits, brownfields funding, and other state grants.

Organizers say the apartments’ central location will add to the sense of community. “It’s a beautiful building right in the center of the downtown village. It will have a tremendous impact, and these are forever homes, forever affordable homes. These will not only be affordable to the people today but for generations to come,” said Mary Cohen with Cornerstone Housing Partners.
