( NewsNation ) — With the release of the Epstein files seemingly closer than ever before , GOP leaders have questioned why the previous administration did not release the files.

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act , a bill that would require the DOJ to release all of its information about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The vote will now head to the Senate and then, if it passes, to the president’s desk. But why weren’t the Epstein files released while Biden was in office?
