TIPTON COUNTY, Miss. (WMC) - The driver accused of striking and injuring a Southaven K-9 officer a week ago has been captured in Tipton County.
Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley confirmed in a Facebook post Tuesday that Ronald ‘Hide and Seek’ Pilkington is now in custody and is set to be booked into the county jail shortly.
Pilkington is accused of fleeing the scene of a traffic stop in DeSoto County last Tuesday. Authorities say he ran over a Southaven Police Department K-9 officer named Dagger.
Dagger was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic in critical condition, suffering from several broken bones and requiring a blood transfusion.
On Friday, the department announced that Dagger had been released from the animal hospital, allowing him to continue his recovery at home.
