An Abbotsford man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the death of another man earlier this year. Chanchal Badwal, 48, was charged with killing Imtiaz Hussain, 62. Hussain was discovered dead on July 18, 2023, in the 31000-block of Madeira Place. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team characterized the incident as isolated, involving two individuals who were acquainted. Badwal was arrested shortly after the incident and charged the following day. Last Friday, he entered a guilty plea in Abbotsford provincial court. His next court appearance is set for November 20. In a separate incident, the North Vancouver RCMP are searching for a woman involved in a break-and-enter that occurred earlier this month. Authorities released images of the suspect, who allegedly entered a home in the 200-block of Sandringham Crescent on October 12. CCTV footage shows the woman entering through an unlocked side garage door at 6:10 a.m. and leaving with several stolen items. "Efforts to identify the suspect through traditional methods have been unsuccessful, and we are now appealing to the public to help identify the suspect caught on CCTV," said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Mansoor Sahak. The suspect is described as being between 40 and 50 years old, standing approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a light baseball cap, a light-colored hoodie with reflective writing on the chest, dark pants, and dark Converse shoes. Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
