MIDDLETON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Middleton Police Department confirmed Tuesday that a person was found dead in Lakeview Park.

The update comes after Middleton Police posted this morning that there was an active search investigation taking place at Lakeview Park, and asked residents to avoid the area.

In a statement released Tuesday night, Middleton PD confirmed a person was found dead in the park and there is no sign of foul play.

The park was searched this morning in relation to a Green Alert put out by the Sun Prairie Police Department. At this time, it is unknown if the deceased individual is the missing person from the Green Alert.

Middleton Police Dept. Captain Tyler Loether said around 1:50 p.m. that the park has reopened.
