BOSTON —

A Boston, Massachusetts elementary school got some support from the sidelines on Tuesday after a group of New England Patriots cheerleaders read to students in the library.

The goal was to promote the importance of reading at the Mattahunt Elementary School in Mattapan.

Cheerleader Jordan Alberstone said the experience was just as rewarding for her as it was for the students.

"It's been incredible," she said. "It's amazing to get out there in the community and be face-to-face because we don't get a chance to do that much on game days."

The Patriots have a special relationship with Mattahunt, as the team selected the school as its 2025 Adopt-A-School.

With the help of several partners, the Patriots Foundation program celebrates the success of local schools through giving back
