BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Mount Mansfield –Vermont’s highest peak– has broken it’s daily November snow depth record... for the second day in a row.

November 17th’s daily snow depth record was 30″set back in 1999 but on Monday we broke it with a snow depth of 38″. November 18th’s daily snow depth record was also 30″ but Tuesday we broke it with a snow depth of 39″.

While breaking a daily record is a big deal, what’s even more substantial is that our current snow depth is currently the third highest on record for the month of November... second highest if you only consider data from Nov 1-18 and not the end of the month.

What many may be wondering... is record setting November snow a harbinger for a snowy winter to come?
