SUTTONS BAY — The latest step in affordable housing in Suttons Bay as Peninsula Housing announces a grant from Huntington Bank.

The $5,500 grant will go toward farm land that Peninsula Housing has owned for 3 years.

The site is located on Herman Road withing walking distance of the largest employers in the community, Suttons Bay Public Schools and Medilodge.

They have been working with the Township Planning Commission to secure zoning approvals for 40 different units, ranging from rentals, to homeownership.

Larry Mawby, Peninsula Housing President, said that the grant will help fund a market study to determine what mix of housing the community needs, and what are the price points for rentals and homes that people can actually afford.
