TRAVERSE CITY — The two teens accused in the killing of a parking services worker are now charged with his murder.
The teens had a video arraignment Tuesday afternoon to hear the charges against them. They are identified as 17-year-old Eugene Thompson and 18-year-old Hunter Vanderwall.
Investigators say the two were breaking into cars at the Larry C. Hardy Parking Deck Saturday night before shooting and killing parking services worker Larry Boyd. The prosecutor’s office says Boyd confronted them, when Thompson shot at Boyd five times, using a gun stolen out of Missaukee County.
Both defendants were found and arrested later Saturday night but not before police say Thompson fired several rounds at an officer.
