DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - With the U.S. House voting overwhelmingly Tuesday to release the documents tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, local organizations in the Northland who work to provide resources to survivors are speaking out.
Local organizations like PAVSA highlight national attention, such as that given to the Epstein files, and emphasize the immense courage required for survivors of sexual abuse to share their stories.
PAVSA is a program that focuses on supporting survivors of sexual abuse through therapy, legal advocacy, and medical exams.
While these services offer invaluable help, Executive Director Mary Faulkner says, sometimes the bigger hurdle to jump is simply asking for help.
