ST. PAUL, Minn. (GRAY) – Minnesota’s Senate welcomed two new members on Tuesday, swearing in Sen. Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger (DFL-Woodbury) and Sen. Michael Holmstrom Jr. (R-Buffalo).
The ceremony took place in the Senate chambers on Tuesday morning with friends, family, and current senate members in attendance.
The new members were sworn in by district court judge and former state Sen. David Knutson, before each delivering brief remarks to the chamber.
“I know we’re all excited to get to work, so I just wanted to say thank you again. This means a lot to me,” said Hemmingsen-Jaeger in her remarks.
“The opportunity to serve the people of Senate District 29 and all of Minnesota in this chamber is a privilege few have known. I accept this responsibility with humility and determination,” sai
